How are assumptions and constraints different? Why is it important to document both?

Question:
This question is for project management course.
An assumption is an event or action believed to be true. A constraint is anything that either restricts the actions of the project team or dictates the actions of project team members. How are assumptions and constraints different? Why is it important to document both?
I would like to know if I am track with the question:
My response is contraints have established limits and assumptions vary according to the situtation. Rain is an assumption because it cannot be predicted. The number of people on a job is a constraint because it is an established limitation. The assumption relative to the projet system may include all data that is cost figures.

Answer:
Assumptions are always considered in a project for your benefit while constraints pose the difficulties and problems in a project. Both are important as they provide support to the practical implementation of a project before it actually takes off. For the approval committee of a project they present arguments whether to support or reject an attractive project.
