Does it require fewer physical, financial, and human resources than a traditional retailer, or just as many?

Question:
Despite the difficulties, many technology companies experienced when the dot-com bubble burst - Internet commerce (e-business) is here to stay.

Answer:
It depends on your target market.

If its just a local market your after, then I'd say its just about as many. And traditional retailing may even work better for you.

But if your targeting an international market, e-commerce will give "better reach" for the same amount of resources compared to a traditional retailer.

Of course, the big retailers really do not totally rely on e-commerce to reach their target market. An advertising campaign is still a better method. E-commorce will just be an adjunct to the business.
