I think as a general rule, all the airlines strive for perfection when flying their planes. If there is a statistical probability that they will have an accident, then they take steps to eliminate the deviations.
I don't know what it means in airline industry, but in general it is a tag given to an industry on organization which has maintain great level of accuracy in there work.
Believe it or not Mumbai's Dabbawallas along with giants like Intel,has received this tag for there accuracy in there work
The consultant who taught my Black Belt class had an interesting story about be contracted by TWA for a six sigma project. It turned out that the biggest cause for flight delays was getting the food on board the airplanes. It was a big cause of customer dissatifisfaction and it also cost the airline money because they evidently have to pay "rent" to the airports based in part on how much time their planes are at the gate. They fixed the problem through a DMAIC project, but it was too late for the airline by then - the company went under within a year. The irony was at the time that the company went under, they were best-in-class with flight delays.
