I want to create a piece of software that will run from a disk using your default web browser. Continued…?
Question:
The idea is that the software will be easy to use so I obviously don’t want these warning to come up.
Is there any way to prevent them from coming up? I don’t actually know what ActiveX is – is there anyway to remove it from the flash movies? Could I save the flash movie using an earlier version of flash (they’re currently saved as flash 6 documents) to prevent them from coming up?
Thanks, any help is much appreciated.
Answer:
You see this happens when you try to load it locally to prevent users from installing viruses/spyware etc, when you upload this content to an ftp server and launch IEX and go to that location it works. But i understand you want to use it locally so what you can do is create a page before the page which loads the flash movie and automaticly redirect it to the flash page. Open that page and then it should just be fine. I didn't test it though so my excuse if it didnt work out for you.
No there isnt!
A yellow bar will appear at the top of the window. Click it and allow ActiveX to load. You can default it to accept ActiveX components, but that's dangerous and up to your target user.
