Fox News, which overtook CNN ?
Question:
Fox News, which overtook CNN in January 2002, averaged a 1.4 household rating last month, up 8% from 1.3 in the first month of 2006, according to a Disney ABC Networks analysis of Nielsen Media Research data. That was good for a share of fourth place among all basic-cable networks in January. CNN was flat at a 0.7, while MSNBC improved 67% to 0.5.
Last month, Fox News scored a 9% gain with primetime viewers to a 1.62 million average from 1.48 million, more than twice the combined total of CNN (ahead 12% to 813,000) and MSNBC (a 55% jump to 540,000).
With the key news demo, Fox News averaged 389,000 25-54 viewers in primetime during January, a 22% improvement from the prior-year period. CNN (up 29% to 260,000) and MSNBC (45% to 217,000) also recorded big gains. MSNBC officials said that performance helped the network to accrue its greatest share with that demo since November 2001.
Gauged on a total-day basis, Fox News -- which will launch late-night show Red Eye, which will examine recent developments in politics, entertainment, business and pop culture, Tuesday at 2 a.m. (EST) -- averaged 874,000 viewers (off 3%) in January, while CNN tallied 521,000 (up 13%) and MSNBC 332,000 (up 39%). Among the news demo, Fox grew 11% to 262,000, versus 186,000 for CNN (+28%) and 138,000 for MSNBC (+52%).

Answer:
Fox News fair and balanced, the #'s don't lie.
The majority of the people on Yahoo will just have to deal with the fact that they do not have the majority of the nation on their side.
And that's a memo!
Sounds like after the defeat in Nov, the cowboys are circling the wagons...
I knew there was a God. Thank you Jesus.
I have read so many liberals on this website that I was beginning to think there were no sane people left in the US.
People know that Fox news is biased. CNN will always be more reliable.
Fox News is a propaganda channel of the GOP. Its popularity is based on lies, rumors, distortions of truth, spin and falsehoods. I watch it too, from time to time - but only for laughs, not for news. For news I go to CNN.
Last I checked journalistic credibility couldn't be measured by ratings. If it could be, Jerry Springer would have Peabodys on his mantle.
Not a surprise, Faux News uses right wing bias and sensationalism to gain ratings. They use their money making hate spewers like Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity, their lies make the "news" so much more interesting than CNN who simply reports on news and politics without bias. Most people would rather hear the "juicier" stuff than actual news.
I watch Fox News, too. I think a lot of people do, and mostly for the same reasons I do. Who can resist a car wreck?
Watching Fox News is like watching Springer. You don't really want to watch it, but it's so bizarre that it can be hard to resist. I keep thinking, "Is it really OK with these people to be this stupid in public?"
shhhh don't tell the Democrats, they'll tell you that these polls are "biased." They don't like hearing their beloved CNN doesn't have anywhere near the pull it once did.
Either that, or they'll say Fox doesn't report "real" news..because "real" news is what they report on CNN. Democrats define "real" news as Democrat friendly, secular, Republican bashing reporting.
Fox News is biased. They proclaim to be fair and balanced but
thats not all true. It's a neo-con Republican channel.
I don't like what O'Reilly or Hannity has to spew out of their mouths about how they think about poor folks so I stick to another source.
Yes it DID. Yay!
Ratings don't lie and the numbers tell the truth, which is something many can't handle.
I really hate people that are calling other people of their same citizenship "insane".
stev "quotes how some people are sane if they believe in republicans but the others who are liberal are insane"...
well unfortunately, not only did you just attack the politicians, but you've attacked my personal feelings and standing on the government, and now I shall report.
