Huh, there is not much to talk about. You are given a permission to work and use the software with the purpose of testing and testing only, you can not publish anything. Also, you might be expected to answer couple of questions about Software's behavior, etc...
Basically, you have no rights, whatsoever, the publisher might pull the plug or do whatever they like at any particular moment.
Now, all of the above is considered to be in a general case.
What I would do, is: Read each and every license agreement you check, now a days, not a lot of companies let any legal loop holes.
If you are talking just about testing, it should theoretically follow the same model as any project life cycle, since it is a sub-project of the whole - practice is another matter!
