My second day at work I get called to the human resources dept, my background check came back RED LIGHT RED LIGHT... felony charge. in 2002 i got arrested for forging a check or however u wanna call it. I was in jail for a day got bailed out, got a lawyer. they didnt arrest me til a year after "problem" (2001)maybe cause i was pregnant at the time i dont know. they never showed me the check i supposively wrote, never compared the signatures, never went to court, never met the DA or the guy who said it was me. we were (me, lawyer, DA) all to meet and go to the guy who said it was me to have him confirm it was me that cashed a forged check, ($56) and my bail was thousands. the DA said to just drop the case we never showed evidence nothing... all along it was my aunt who forged all this ****, her azz is in prison off and on for drugs and whatnot. i was in cell w/ her and she never said **** about it nothing. she fkn framed me. i graduated from school 3 mths ago, cont...

Welcome to the CRIMINAL Justice System. Yes, you're going to have to find a lawyer to get all this straightened out. It's going to cost many hundreds probably upwards of a thousand. After you get the original charge cleared up, then you'll have to get it expunged from your record: it doesn't just 'go away'. It's also going to take months because YOUR time means nothing to them so forget about your job: the position will be filled. Good luck.
Actually if you are willing to spend a couple of hours at the court house you can get a court date set up in norally under a month its called and expungement hearing simply go to your court house and ask to fill out an expungment hearing request it might cost 50-100 dollars then when you get to court you may have to pay some court costs shouldnt cost more than 200 dollars total but it takes about 2 months to get your records sealed from the time the judge seals them so total of 3 months and 200 dollars good luck
Well if you weren't charged and found guilty, then you shouldn't have a felony charge on your record. Contact the lawyer and see what steps need to be taken to have your record cleared of this. Also obtain proof for your employer that this charge was dropped.
