What degree do you have to get to become an HR?

Question:
WHAT DEGREE DO YOU HAVE TO BET TO BECOME AN HUMAN RESOURCES? DO YOU HAVE TO GET A B.A OR AA/ OR MA?

Answer:
A post graduate degree in Human Resource Management. [MHRM or MA (HRM) or MA (IRPM)] depending on what the university calls it.
Probably just a high school diploma... HR just is clerical work.
Get a Bachelors in Human Resource Management or Administration.
AA, BA or MS in Business.
HR is NOT just clerical work - but first, you'd better learn that you don't "become a human resources". "Hi, I'm a human resources!" Sort of like saying, "Hi, I'm a medicine!"

You're trying to become a human resources PROFESSIONAL, maybe? You'll need a B.A. unless ALL you want to do is filing.
You'll need to find out for each state, province, country for that matter what they require. There are courses for Human Resources Management, but I'm not sure that there are degrees for same.

The first answer is way off base. It is absolutely not just clerical, it is hugely different from just clerical.
HR is NOT just clerical work. If you want to make it to manager level, you will need a bachelors degree. After that you can get certified as a human resources professional - it's a lengthy test that requires a great deal of preparation.

You probably should get a Bachelors of Personnel Management. A masters degree will help you go even further. But I know many people in HR without a specific management degree - many have humanities degrees.
I'm not sure which degree you would pursue, but they're HR certification courses, even for people with no college education. And no they're not just clerical. Most of the HR professionals I know and worked with were all managers making over $55,000 without a college degree. There are District, Division and Vice President level managers within HR pulling in well over 6 figures. I'm sure thay had a degree, but I don't know which type.
Get your bachelor's degree in business administration and with a field focus in management/HR. Whether or not the position requires this degree, you will definitely earn more money because you have it.
I've got 3+ years experience in this field, with no degree and let me tell you, you HAVE to have one or it's nearly impossible getting in!

Go look at this website http://www.riversideca.gov/human/jobline...

It's for three HR jobs and it's very specific about the degree requirements.

Basically, you are looking at getting at least a two year degree, preferably a 4 year degree in business or public administration or a closely related field.

Good luck!
