yeah you can.

but 40gb hard drive isn't a lot.

but flight simulator takes about 1 gb and you have 40 so yeah you can.
NO you need more RAM and Better Graphics Card

Even if you start the game you'll have to play it with minimum requrements wich is like playing the first editions of flight simulator
Read the hardware requirements on the flight simulator's package, it will state the hardware requirements.
