My concern is the Shared VGA memory will do with softwares like MAYA or the dedicated GRforce 256 MB card is a must? Please post your opinions, this is a gift for my sister who intends to do a course in 3D animation.
Answer:
the 256 mb dedicated graphics is a huge advantage over 128 mb shared graphics., esp. when doing 3d animation
hence option 2) hp pavilion 6189
the t7200 processor is great, cause of it's massive 4 mb l2 cache
good specs overall & a great gift for sister !
I'm not an expert, but I would go with the HP Pavillion 6189 just because it has basically everything that the other one has, and the 256 video card. For some 3D animation, I would definately recommend getting the 256 MB card.
