Answer:
my friend, all i can tell u is "congratulations"
i am impressed with u'r selection / customising
the t7200 processor is just fantastic, the 4 mb l2 cache is simply awesome & overpowering.
ok, the t7400 & t7600 are even faster, but sure not worth the price differential on date
for a 12.1" notebook, it is pretty much powerful & feature packed
all i can tell you is just enjoy the lil fella
i know, it is branded 'vista ready' & additionally vista upgrade is also included as option
>> do not let the vista bug bite u
no one knows where this vista racket's gonna end & we are already bitten before it starts
bugs n fixes, service packs ... etc are bound to follow
meaning another lot of hardware goes down the drain ...
< just thought of sharing with you, i still maintain & operate workstations with win 3.11 & they have 8 mb ram >
1 gb of ddr2 ram @ 667 mhz is sooper + 256 mb dedicated graphics makes it awesome
enjoy the gennie .. happy computing & merry christmas
______________
just thought of adding my comments to u'r selection
the 9 cell battery defeats the portability factor
if i were to customise, i'd select a 6 cell for regular use & if i knew i were to operate for long periods on batteries, i'd buy a 9 cell one as spare
6 cell for regular use & 9 cell for selective use
If you can I would wait till a few months after Vista comes out. I've been hearing about zero day exploits for Vista on sale, and I would wait a while before they can work the kinks out after Vista gets released. 512 MB ram is not enough to use all of the features of Vista. I would think 1gb RAM would be the minimum but I would get 2gb RAM if you can affor it.
Dude, you can get a MUCH better system for less money at www.stupidcheapcomputers.net
I'm sorry to tell you but this system is overpriced. If I bought the exact same parts and put the system together for myself i could easily get it under $1500
I recommend you use the site http://www.ncix.com they have prices that are un-rivaled. Literally. They have a price match garuntee that will match the price of any part to any other store/website.
Just a side-note If you know much about computers checkout my system that I am going to buy from ncix (awesome deal)
(it costs $1,859.91 if i stick with the onboard graphics card)
http://pc.ncix.com/pcbuilder/index.php?a...
(also note that it comes with a FREE upgrade to vista, less shipping and handling)
