I dont want my email available thru messanger because i share a computer, is there a way to make it private?
Question:
Answer:
First, DO NOT turn on messenger when your computer turns on.
Yahoo email is connected to your yahoo ID and in your case nck7275.
In order to use Yahoo mail so that it is NOT connected ot messenger, I suggest you get a new yahoo email address. Just go and create a new account and use that one to keep in touch with friends.
There is NO WAY to make your email and your messenger two different passwords, because they are the SAME NAME.
It is ALWAYS best to use two different ID's. One for chatting and one for email.
There are many people in chat who try to steal your chat ID and if that happens your email is gone too. It's much safer if they just take your chat ID and you have another ID that you use for email.
First thing I would do is make it so that Yahoo Messenger does not launch every time you turn on your computer. Then I would make it so that no one can sign in automatically, and also so that your name and password are not remembered.
At the top of Yahoo Messenger click the Messenger Menu and then Preferences. Choose the General Category. On that page, under “When I start up my computer,” uncheck the box that says “Automatically start Yahoo Messenger.” Now click OK.
Now, go to the top of YM, click the messenger menu again, and then choose Sign Out (not sign out and close). Now you'll see the login window for Yahoo Messenger. Uncheck remember my ID and password and uncheck sign in automatically.
To set these changes you'll need to sign in Yahoo Messenger now with your name and password. The next time you exit Yahoo Messenger and then it is relaunched, your name and password will not automatically be put in there. And the other person can also use Yahoo Messenger, the same one, if you do what I suggest. Because no names and passwords will be saved and privacy will be protected.
