I am thinking of buying laptop ACER 5612. Is this model worth it for long-term professional use?
Question:
SPECIFICATIONS:
PROCESSOR: Intel Core Duo T2300 (1.66GHz)
1 GB DDR2 RAM
GRAPHICS: Intel GMA 950
DRIVES: 80GB hard disk
DVD-RW
Screen: 15in TFT (1280 x 800)
WEIGHT: 2.8kg
Answer:
I bought a 5611 in January this year - my previous Dell went bang and I needed one next day for work - used 9-5 daily, excellent, installed an extra 1GB RAM and it flies, only a couple of things that are a pain, one is that Acer split the drive in half (I could re-partition it but never got round to it) and the other is that there is no docking options, but if you want a cheap laptop for work, it's fine, if it breaks I'll buy a new one.
my suggestion is to get the 5570 model by acer you can interchange from dual core to a centrino and expand the memory up to 4 gb. Cool awesome laptop.. Thanks
