Desktop icons question?

Question:
My husband and I share our computer and each have put on a few games and things. My icons are arranged on the left and his on the right and we both like it this way. Problem: Sometimes after playing games the icons are all lined up mishmash style across the top third of the screen, not up and down each side like they started. Why does this happen and how can we prevent it?

Answer:
What is happening:

The games or whatever you are using is probably resizing your screen resolution to a smaller resolution. That causes all icons to fit in a screen with that resolution. When you exit what you were using, the resolution changes back to normal but your icons will stay in the same position.

Solution:

Find the resolution of your screen and set that resolution as your game's resolutions if you can. This may not fix the problem but it also might.
right click the desktop and uncheck line to grid and auto arrange Iforgot to tell you under icons
by accident
do this
right click on desk top
choose arrange icons
His and Hers icons - how sweet.

Get two PC's or a divorce.
I have never found a way, if I move them when I shut down they come back the way they were! good luck!
I'm not sure WHY it happens, but you could possibly put your icons in a folder and his icons in another folder. It'll really reduce space and you won't have to worry about mixing them up.
The games may be altering the resolution of the screen. When it ends it tries to put it back and replace the icons but does it wrong.
every one of you can work on the PC at his spacial desktop (control panel> user account> create new user> customize your desktop as you like)
Right click on a blank area of the screen and uncheck all items.
Hey,
I ain't smart with computers, but wouldn't making a folder with your name and another with his solve this problem? That way your stuff will never be mixed up and its a lot tidier. :) just a suggestion.
