U.S. Airways?
Question:
Answer:
Make sure you do some research on the type of plane you'll be traveling on... and which airline's plane you will really be flying on. (See http://www.seatguru.com/ for specific seat/aircraft info.) US Air and United "code share" on some flights... so even though it appears you are buying a ticket US Air from US Air's web-site you may end up on a United plane. Based on what you described... you wouldn't be too happy if you ended up on UA again. Personally... I don't like US Air, and depending on how much extra it costs to take Continental... I would seriously consider paying the extra cash for comfort and service.
I've flown to Hawaii, not sure how it was. slept most of it.
I personally like frontier, it sounds like continental.
U.S. Airways has been pretty good, but if possible try to book a flight at night, so you can sleep through it... it passes time dramatically.
With the T.V. situation, it just depends on which type of airplane you get (lucky)
As someone who flies constantly (mostly for work), I've also found that Continental is the best US airline and United is by far the worst (sucked isn't nearly a strong enough word... but I won't go into that, haha). USAirways is somewhere in between. I fly them the most, mostly because they fly on a lot of the routes I fly and they have the cheapest fares most of the time. And I've never taken them to Hawaii, but I've taken them on other long flights (from the east coast to California, Seattle, Europe, and the Caribbean). Anyway, they've improved drastically over the past couple years, and they're one of the better airlines now. It might not be as pleasant as Continental but at least they're frendlier than United, they're on time, and they've never lost my luggage in any of the hundreds of times I've flown them. (United, in the 3 or 4 times I've flown them, has lost my luggage each time - literally). And their planes are better too. They don't offer tons in the way of in-flight entertainment, but other than that it's fine. (I usually read on planes anyway).
