Question:
Hi, yesterday when I tried to play WoW I had low fps in the 10s so I downloaded a newer version of my graphic driver( I have intel GMA 950 with shared memory of up to 224mb). Since then, when I start my computer, I get this black horizontal lines across my screen on the user login page. Also, on the start up page, I automatically get winSAT 3D assessment which did not happen prior to installing the newer driver. Everything gets better after. I tried to reinstall the older version of the driver but I still get the black lines. I dont think the problem is with my monitor because everything gets back to normal after the start-up page. If anyone knows how to fix this, please tell me. By the way my spec is:
toshiba satellite A135-S4467
intel core 2 duo T5200
intel GMA 950 graphic card
1024mb ram
160GB hard disk
windows vista home premium 34-bit
Answer:
Contact Toshiba about the problem and use the graphics drivers that they have qualified for the system. It sounds like an Intel graphics driver problem. Intel also has a list of applications that have known issues with their drivers on their website.
BTW. rolling back to the old driver isn't always stable
Stick with the winsar 3d assessment. Maybe it is the display adapter's problem.
