Toshiba A135-S2326 Upgrade Q's. (notebook A135 series)?
Question:
How much RAM can this handle? I got the spec's online, but am a little confused. It says upgradeable to 2GB so does that mean we can add the 2GB to the 512MB or remove the 512MB and replace it with 2x 1GB RAM? From these specs any other upgrades you'd consider doing?

There are actually a few possibilities. A lot of times, a laptop with 512 MB of RAM has 2 x 256 MB sticks. If that is the case, you can take one out and put in a 1 GB. I mix and match memory size all the time and it works fine. Of course, to get the best performance, you would want as much RAM as you can get. One thing you might want to think about before you spend the money though, is that Vista has hardware requirements other than RAM. You need a decent size graphics card, and it sounds like you have less than 128 MB which isn't very much especially for Vista. It also seems like your processor might not be quite efficient enough to run Vista at a good speed. It sounds like you would be best off running Windows XP... and trust me, there's nothing wrong with that.
