How to stream video on LAN?

Question: I want to stream video songs and mp3 songs to the users on my network.. how can I do that plzzz explain in detail

Answer:
I have thought of what to tell you and I have come to a conclusion.
Although it is in fact possible to stream both video and audio, how to do so is the question.
Placing the files on a private network webserver and playing them on a simple website would work, but you would have no control over what is currently being viewed.

Shoutcast allows you to stream whatever your currently playing, although it has only been tested with audio. I've heard rumors that it can work with video, but dont count on it.
Also note that unlike the first suggestion, for viewers to listen to the stream, they must use an accepted client. In my case it is winamp, although I think that windows media player and media player classic may or may not work also.

I hope this helps somewhat.
Try http://www.RedLime.com. They have plans which start from $9.95/mo. You can publish streaming video and audio.
