How do you turn off Verizon's EV network on a Razr V3m phone?
Question: I found these directions from cnet but they don't work for the Razr
"The EV network is Verizons high speed network. If you dont use VCAST (stream video, download music etc), then you can (should) disable it. Bring up the menu by pressing "OK". Then press "0" (zero). It will ask for a 6 digit service code (enter all zeros). In the service menu, select "3. Network Select". Select "1. Mode Preference". Select and choose "1X Only".
Press "OK". Press "END" to exit the service menu.
On the main screen where it used to show EV bars and 1X bars, it will just show 1X bars now, in bigger font. "
Answer:
There is only one benefit of disabling EVDO and that is only if your phone is constantly switching between evdo and 1x. There should be a better description of how to do this on www.hacktherazr.com or www.howardforums.com
