Wireless Adapter Help?
Question: my so-called "Entertainment" PC uses a wireless adapter to connect to the internet, the signal strength is "Low" but it dosent really bother me because it streams video great, and all that sttuff. but, i've been having trouble at first it showed it was connected but no internet(fixed now) but then thiis little pop-up came from the desktop saying "System Error-There Is A IP Conflict With A User On The Network"(or something like that) and after that, the internet is slow! like "No Signal" slow.. :( it says "Low" but it surfs the web like its at "No Signal" download rates go like at 1-6KB/s but at one time it went like normal surfing the web fast for 2 minutes and it got slow again. please help!! :)
Answer:
the most easiest way to help resolve that is to call the 1-800 number for the wireless adapter. Their tech people can help you pretty quickly
if there is an IP address conflict error, someone on the network may also have the same IP address.
change your IP address and your issue will be resolved.
Cheers !
If you have dhcp setup on your computer, start a command prompt and run the command:
ipconfig /renew
This should release your ip address and get a new one. If the other computer is also running dhcp, you will get a unique address and there will no longer be a conflict.
If one or both computers have static ip addresses, you should just change yours.
Good luck
