Please help..I want to listen to a program on line..I have windows xp and windows media player?
Question: I got this message and don't understand it at all. It said "windows media player cannot connect to the server the server name might not be correct the serer might not be available or your proxey settings might not be correct"
then I got this for further info
If you do not know what your proxy server settings should be, on the Network tab, select a protocol, click Configure, and then select Autodetect proxy settings or Use proxy settings of the Web browser (available for HTTP protocol only).
To verify your proxy server settings
Click the arrow below the Now Playing tab, and then click More Options.
Click the Network tab.
Verify your settings in the Streaming proxy settings area.
where do I find all this stuff..and can you explain some of what this is saying to a newbie..please..I really want to listen to this show,

Wow that is a strange error. I would recommend downloading the latest version of Real Player http://www.real.com and see if the error still occurs. I agree with the proxy settings, but the rest doesn't make much sense to me. There is a good chance that something may have corrupted your copy of WMP, so you may want to look for an udate of that as well. Personally, I prefer Real Player. Hope this helps
