Sir plz solve this hard disk problem?
Question: "sir i found a problem in my hard disk
when i start my computer
i found that type of warning
"Dell's disk monitoring system has detected that Drive 0 on the primary EIDE
controller is operating outside of normal specification. It is advisable to
immediately backup your data and replace your hard disk drive by calling your
support desk or Dell computer corporation"
sir please email what should i do to resolve this problem "
Answer:
Do you have a CD or DVD burner?
If that warning is serious, then you should burn your files (e.g. My Documents and My Pictures) to CD or DVD ASAP. It might mean that your hard drive is about to fail.
I would probably do what it is telling you to do. And stop calling me sir.
sir please contact your nearest DELL service center
Are you saying women need not answer...?
Never heard of that. Sounds like a virus got in there to me. Some viruses are harmless and may say things like, you have been broken into by so and so. Just an annoyance. Run a virus scan. If nothing else, if you can get on then call the support desk AFTER you run the virus check.
Do you have a spare computer? I suggest that you get your problematic hard drive out, (if you don't know how, have an expert do this), connect the hard drive to your other computer, then copy all your important files on it.
After copying all necessary files return the drive to your pc (note: turn off your pc if you connect or remove harddrives), put in your Dell System Recovery CD then boot it.
If you are under dos mode, run chkdsk to check your disk and allow chkdsk to correct it.
If your system won't still boot properly, reinstall Windows XP.
If everything else's fail, contact dell.
I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems.
Some RAM/hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful. Try this site, if you can get what is required.
