Network question?
Question: Why when our entire network shuts down to reboot do we loose our connections to the internet, email, file servers and any applications that are running off the server, but we can still stream in iTunes?
Answer:
There are several types of streaming in iTunes. Most notably, you could be streaming internet radio/video or streaming music from the playlist of another computer on your network. The internet streaming should not work if you have no internet connection. On the other hand, you could very easily be streaming music from the playlist of another computer on your network even when the network is down. This works because you stream from the local area network and not the internet (wide are network). Depending on your network setup, it is quite possible that even when it is rebooted, your local area network could remain up and running.
