Why do I lose my internet connection (wireless network) when I stream video?

Question: I have a linksys router, and I've wasted many hours on the phone with tech support trying to solve this problem. I don't get kicked off if I watch video on my desktop computer straight from the modem. But add the router, and whether I watch video on the laptop or desktop I lose my connection and have to restart everything. Do I just need to buy a new router? Have had terrible customer support experience with Linksys to boot. Thanks!
Maybe those dirty videos is too much for the router to take.
i have both dlink, netgear and linksys routers and wireless routers. I have never seen this issue. if its a new piece of equipment, I would return it and try another set.
