Wave desks?

Question: A member of staff is complaining of pains in her upper body and specifically claiming the cause is the wave desk she sits at. Having carried out a desk assessment i can not find anything to support her claim but she is adamant its the desk, anyone else come across this at all?

Answer:
Its more likely a posture problem, or, desk envy! I do DSE assesments as part of my job so I know what you mean.

We have just had new wave desks fitted in our office and assuming that the chair is correct (5 point and has good lumber support) then its all to do with how their desk is arranged.

Can they get to everything without moving much? Keyboard and mouse all close, phone within reach not a lean?

Is the chair too high / low? Do they need a foot rest? Do they have a flat screen or a CRT as they may be too close to the screen

People in our office want a bigger desk because the waves are smaller, they get over it after a while if it is desk envy.

Those are my thoughts anyway.
