Question: ..opinions, do you thinks it's better for a woman to stay at home and live off welfare or go to work and support her kids? (Two fat mean ladies at the Wal-Mart actually had the nerve to say that I had no business having my kids, MY kids!, because I work instead of living off of govt cheese!)

You're doing the right thing. Your kids need to see your example. Welfare is a vicious cycle, and you don't want to expose your kids to it. I've been volunteering with a family for 8 years now. The oldest is now 19. She had all the promise in the world a few years ago. She is now a high school drop-out with a baby and on welfare like her mom. Show your kids a better life and they will live it when they're older. Kids do as they see.
It's better for your self-respect to work rather than live off welfare, although for some women, they don't have the option. Just do what's best for you and your chidren and ignore the critics.

WORK!Good for you. I think that there are drawbacks but as long as you squeeze in as much quality time for your kids as you can then that's whats important. Honestly screw them ladies they are lazy and more than likely the type to have kids so they don't have to work or to trap a man. I applaude you for working and I think too many women in this country are brought up thinking it should be the other way. Do what you gotta do to support your kids, cause in the long run you are teaching a better lesson than any amount of welfare or food stamps ever could.
i don't think they make govt. cheese anymore.( it was some good cheese tho, esp. for grilled cheese sandwiches.) but to answer your ? , it is better to work if she is able.(like can she afford child care?)

Yes Its a world of busy bodies if you stayed home they would ***** because you were on welfare and food stamps...there is no winning with people these days ...so do what makes you happy cuz your damned if you do and your damned if you don't.
I admire you for working! I think that WAY too many people would just sit at home and sponge off who ever. I think that is totally demoralising for a start, and secondly what kind of an example is that for your teenage kids? I do agree that sometimes women don't have a chose but to be on welfare and I would never judge them and I commend them for doing the best they can in THEIR situation, but I commend YOU for doing the best you can in YOUR situation! you go girl! and ignore the meanies at walmart, they're prob just needing their next big sugar fix from their family size chocie bar :)
Get a job enough people live off the taxes I pay. It will show ur kids that u have responsibilities as they will when they grow up rather then teaching them to live off the system!
Ignore them. They are just bigging up their part. You're obviously smart and hard working and have raised your kids through hard work which shows how much you love them. It's the easy option to lie about watching daytime television while other people work to support you. Good on you - hope your kids turn out as well as you.
I think its fantastic that you to go out and earn your own money, putting your child in child care is not such a bad thing. In fact it helps your child develop and learn social skills which they might not learn at home.

Honey, They are just probably just two jealous old biddies. They lived probably in the stone ages. You are in the right. You just keep on working. Someday your kids are going to tell you how proud of you they are because you worked and gave them more than what they would have gotten if you hadn't. People like these ladies need to mind their own damn business and leave other people alone. Some people just want to make more for themselves and their kids. So keep on working. I for one am very proud of you. I am sure a lot of people are.
OK, first you must be doing something right, the kids ain't dead or in jail yet. And obviously you can trust them to be alone for 2 hours while you work.

i would tell those other ladies to get off there fat @$$E$ and get a job you are a single mother i presume i have great respect for you to go and make a living and support your children and yourself without the help of the taxpayers. you should have told the two lazy heffers that at least your efforts are not taking charity from the government in my book you deserve a medal for going out and making it on your own

It's better for you to work. They just can't stand the fact that you're making it so well on your own and they couldn't. So keep on doing what you're doing, just totally ignore them because evidently, they're not worth your time.
