PETA, and rednecks?

Question: im 15 and i support peta and other animal support sites, becuase i LOVE LOVE LOVE animals...They are just so cool and its just wrong to kill them (redneck hunters) well anyways, in my highschool math class, most of them are hunters, and are constantly talking about goin huntin and killin animals and stuff like that...but since im against it i always say somethin to them bout it, but everytime i say somethin they start makin fun of me...Its gotten really bad lately, (people makin fun of me usually doesnt bother me, but this is about innocent animals so it does) Theyve been puttin pictures of dead animals on my desk, and even killed a bunch of ducks and put them on the ground to where they spelled out PETA. That ticked me off
I want to keep voicing my opinion about what they are doing to these poor animals, but i cant take the way they treat me much longer
what should i do
You help is much appreciated

Answer:
Do you love animals so much that you take good care of your pets?
Well PETA would love to see nothing more than your pets destroyed, or "freed" to run wild and do what they want, starving, breeding, dying on the streets.
It's good to like animals, but supporting PETA is not the way to do it. PETA doesn't like people to have pets, or use animals for ANYTHING. Not even to save people's lives. Read a little unbiased research and you'll find that PETA doesn't love animals the way you do, and if you support them with money, you are supporting the death of animals.
HI
I live in a part of the country where hunting is popular, just tone it down. this is their lifestyle and we can't change them, so for your happiness just don't talk to them.

Well, honestly, the best thing really is to just ignore them. They truly will eventually get tired of it and stop if you don't give them anything to fight about. And look at it this way, I'm not blaming you, don't take this the wrong way, but a lot of ducks were killed because they felt they needed to combat the points you are trying to make. If you continue to remain vocal, more animals could be killed. For this reason alone, I would just keep quiet and take the harassment. It's better than what they did to the ducks. When you're an adult and can move away from this behavior and fight your fight in a more proper forum, then find your voice.
First, I think PETA is incredibly overrated. I'm all for animal welfare, but at 15 I find it hard to believe that you really know how very seriously PETA takes their beliefs. Do you own a pair of leather shoes? Use makeup? Shampoo and other toiletries? Most of those things are grossly looked down upon by PETA and they have been known to act in a violent manner against their fellow HUMAN just to get their point across, and, if you do your research, they're not so innocent when it comes to animal welfare themselves.
The kids at school SHOULD be stopped. It's harrassment. Tell your teachers, and if they don't do something, tell your parents that the kids at school are putting pictures of dead animals in your locker. That would upset anyone and you don't deserve that. As far as them talking about hunting, that's as much their right to talk about it as it is your right to talk about why it's wrong. Ignore them.
Sounds like you have a harassment case on your hands. If they keep doing it, go to your principal. They can help. Then, if that doesn't work, you CAN file charges. This kind of treatment is NEVER right, and should NOT be ignored.
I hope you know that hunting is a just another way to provide meat for people's families and to keep the animal population down. Deer, wild boars and hogs, and other hunting game become heavily populated if we don't hunt. This increases animal infectious viruses and kills off many animals that people consider pets.
My advice is either learn to ignore their remarks or not voice them at all. You should also do more research on PETA- not all that they do is very good and they way that they protest is not always right.

You can love animals and also understand that animal killing and game hunting is helpful to our world. However you should voice your opinions about animal abuse and people who neglect their pets.

And other people are saying this is a harassment case- when it's not. You voiced your opinion and they are therefore displaying their opinions. Spelling out or leaving pictures is covered in the first amendment as long as it is not crossing the line of vulgar or threatening yours or another person's life.
hunting is population control. without hunters we would be over run by deer and other animals. we have been hunting for hundreds of years to provide for our familes and its not going to stop now.
Hunting does not always harm the animals- it actually helps better the population (when done correctly). For instance, the deer population in my state (WI) is so large that they are eating everything and are starving in the winters because there are too many of them.
Without hunting, there would be an explosion of disease and starvation die off (much crueler way to die than a fast death by gun) With hunting, the population is (barely) kept in check- the population is still way over the carrying capacity of the land (how much it can hold and still regenerate). Even having a high wolf population does not help keep the deer population down.

I love animals as well and am going to vet school soon, but I see the importance of hunting. Killing a few (who may die anyways in the upcoming winter, hit by cars, etc) to save the entire population seems like a just cause to me.
If you are against all forms of hunting, you can't ignore the fact you are supporting slow painful deaths by starvation.
At 15 you are far too young to understand much more than what your parents and friends say and do.

I lovingly raise over 50 animals, butcher many ( with respect ) because that is what some of the animals are raised for..food. I have hunted and fished my whole life. I have never seen myself as, or claimed to be a " Redneck". I have encountered many a "City folk", ( Doctors, Lawyers, Politicians and some the likes of your classmates ) while hunting in the high mountain range and witnessed slaughter and waste, cruelty and destruction by these people.

A Man, hunts for food and experience of the hunt, an uneducated person hunts for the thrill or self empowerment and self satisfaction.

I no longer hunt as hunting has severed it's purpose in my life, however I still target practice and will hunt in the future if it is required. I will continue to support hunting throughout the country as it is a necessity to control animal populations of all species to guarantee their survival.

So!, Maybe listen to more people about what hunting is, what PETA is, how our slaughter-houses operate, what a redneck is, what harassment is, and maybe what tolerance and obsessiveness mean. Don't fret over the teasing, just realize these kids aren't as caring as you, and like PETA they have a sertain way to get everyones goat. Ignore them and they will pick on someone else, including animals.

Cheer up and wise up, keep caring.
