Can i use a different router to the one that was supplied to me by my ISP?
Question: Im with Eircom and have the Worst router EVER!! Meet the netopia. It is so crap that sometimes even when im beside the router, my laptop cannot connect wirelessly but yet can pick up most peoples networks in the estate. If i use a different router will it still work? If so could someone reccomend me a good one. A really good one as i do everything with it from online gaming, video streaming to email

Yes you can use a different router. Go with a Linksys or Cisco. Though Cisco's are on the high end.
I've had variable success with D-Link. Let me or someone else know ig you need help setting it up.

But even still, you can get a different one.

i'm not so sure u can use a different one...sometimes the provider offers the service on a dedicated machine and to try one without buying is not easy.check with eirkom first!
If the router is also your modem - then no. If you have seperate modem/router then yes. I like D Link or Belkin. Linksys is good, but expensive.
