Router problems.?
Question: I have a Ativa54g wireless router. I pluged in my LAN directly to the router and from the router into the main computer. However, on my computer (it has a wireless receiver installed) i have certain problems. When i use AIM, I log out spontaneously, downloads freeze if they take more than 1 minute, and watchcing streaming video on the web does not go to completion. Is it my router? I don't think it is my internet provider (I use comcast). Also my network is not protected, does that have any effect? Speed is not a problem, it is just anything that takes more than a minute to load will not load and stop all together.

First secure your router. It is very easy to setup just follow the instructions. You may have unwanted bandwidth robbers, you can check the client list in your router to see if you have unwanted guests. Check your signal strength, if it is low then you may be dropping signal and losing connection. To prevent this position your laptop or router so that you have the best signal possible.
