YouTube / Router Issue?

Question: Hi there,

I work with computers so please, no obvious answers.

The problem is streaming from Youtube, I suspect it's the case with other sites, google *seems* to be fine. but then it seemed to be fine on my PC but not my flatmates. I know it's the router because when we bypass it buffers the entire video/song instantly.

I've a SiteCom DC 202 router. Ive update the firmware to the beta version which did make a slight improvement but not a great one.

All other connectivty is fine. Filesharing across the network, gaming etc

I suspect it's port related but I can't say for sure.

Thanks for reading.

Answer:
Sometimes going back in firmware versions is better than having the latest. If that doesn't work, perhaps you can add a new route to your OS that sets the default gateway to use for youtube addresses as the gateway your router uses.
I have the same problem all the time unfortunatly you cannot have a router without slowing your internet connection in some way due to the fact that it is spliting your internet conection several different ways its just a problem that comes along with having a router I would know I have had mine for 2 years now and I have seen them all no matter what the make or model their all the same. I want it to be fast but I want it to be on every computer you cant have both.
