I want to play movies i downloaded of the internet but it wont let me please help?

Question: when i try to play the movies it tells me i have to go to tools menu, options then network settings, and then streaming protocols i have no idea how or where to do this stuff

Answer:
its because your downloading torrents not actual movie files.

you need a torrent down loader, i recomend http://azureus.sourceforge.net/...

its free. when you down load the file, open azureus and locate the torrent you just downloaded then open it and click start that will then download the actual movie to you computer

First open your windows media player>>
then goto tools menu, there is options at the last click it
then options window opens, see there is network tab at the top right side, click it, and there is streaming protocols, check all of them (Multicast, UDP, TCP, HTTP).
In the Player tab, in the automatic updates check on download codecs automatically...hope it works
well lisa,if u wanna download streaming movies then u should do it on windows media player(WMP).open the WMP and then go to "tool" menu and thn to options.u will see a window with "network" option.
tool->option->network->streami... protocol(in WMP)
check all the streaming protocols given(basically 4 protocols r given,mainly multicast,UDP,TCP,and HTTP)And,there u go.u r now ready to watch streaming movies.
Remember, streaming movies play while simultaneously downloading it frm the movie source site.U wont b able to save it on ur computer.
the file that you downloaded might actually be a streaming media. it means that you must be connected on the internet to actually view it. parts of the file are stored on your pc called a buffer but the actual whole file is not.

if you're sure that it isn't a streaming media i suggest you download the latest codecs of windows media player. you can go to www.microsoft.com if you don't want wmp to automatically download the codecs.

better yet try these media players instead for more stability, uses lesser system resources, more file formats that can be played and best of all these are free!

1. quintessential player
2. vlc media player
3. zoom player standard
