i can't access my internal router settings, i use the default gateway which is 192.168.2.1 and type this in a web browser and nothing comes up no options...

i called an indian help desk support for belkin and they ran through a whole bunch of steps, both computer can ping the router and works fine, but i can't get access to the router config settings....

the computers can't ping each other, and i need to ajust the router table so they know each other exists..

has anybody ever had a problem where they can't access there router config through the defualt gateway in a web browser.

i have even disconnect the internet, deleted all browser addons, tryed in several browsers, turned off firewall, but nothing no router config page will come up??

Answer:
There should be a button on the back of the router that you can push if you straighten a paper clip which will restore it to the factory settings. From there, you can set it up however you need to.
Get Linksys, that's what I have. It's all automatic.
Make sure your computer has an IP address on the 192.168.2.x subnet or else you're not going to be able to get to the router.
If you are not able to talk to the router or with a computer in the network, you will need to use the ping command to see if computers within a network or outside the network are communicating with each other. Get to a command prompt and type in a distant IP, like (ping www.google.com). If you receive a response that says reply from... then communication is good. If the connections are not properly set up, you will get messages such as Request timed out, Destination host unreachable, or Destination net unreachable. Check your cables and make sure you see a link light on the numbered port of the router to which your computer is connected. You should also have a link light on your computer's NIC. Also, double check to ensure you are not having problems with your NIC (right mouse click your 'My Computer' icon, then left click on Manage, then click on 'Device Manager'. Under network adapters, your hardware should be listed without any yellow marks on it. If it does have a yellow mark on it, then the driver isn't functioning properly. Let me know what you see and I'll try to help.
