Linksys Dropping Connection?!?!?

Question: We have a wireless internet network at our home, and we have a laptop and and a desktop. The network works great for surfing the web and it works great on the desktop. However, everytime I try to watch streaming video on my laptop, the linksys box will cut out, and I will have to reset it. This happens about every 20 mins. Does anyone have any ideas why this happens, and how I can fix it? Or Who i need to call?
Does it happens only when you stream video or every 20 minutes regadless. The type of traffic that you send or receive through a device doesnt matter. The problem can be something else. I need more info, is the desktop wired or wireless, have you tried to stream from a different website, what linksys model do you have?
if you need more help send me a message.
If your router uses the 12 volt @ 1 amp center positive adapter try replacing it with a switched mode (SMPS) adapter with the same ratings. If you don't know the difference a standard (linear) adapter usually lists a single input voltage such as 120 volts and is very heavy for its size. A switched mode adapter usually lists a voltage range such as 100-120, 100-240, or 90-264 etc. and is very light by comparison. Linksys used to use a switched mode adapter that put out 5 volts @ 2 amps but started using the cheaper 12 volt linear ones after the Cisco Systems merger.

After you do that get the model and version numbers off of the bottom of the router and go to the Linksys website to download and flash the latest firmware to the router.
