Can my computer try to connect to two different Internet connections at once?

Question: I have a 100 mbps LAN and a much slower wireless network (wireless router is plugged into the LAN). If I plug my laptop directly into the LAN, and my wireless card automatically connnects to to the wireless network, which connection "wins?" Will I get the faster connection? The slower one? Can I tell the computer which one I want it to choose in those situations? Or do I need to disable my wireless card any time I want to plug into the LAN for a faster connection (like to download software or stream video)? Thanks for your help.

Answer:
You need to disable your wireless card.
Disabling the wireless card is the quick and easy option.
