I keep on having to reset my cable modem. Why? Would changing my muliticast setting help?

Question: I have a cable modem hooked to a wireless router (Airport Express) and this problem has gotten so bad that I have had to install an on/off switch to go to the modem, since there wasn't one on there already. It seems to happen when I am searching several sites at once, streaming AirTunes, file transfers, etc. (aka. a lot of network activity). Would changing my my multicast setting help? Please note that I'm on a Mac

MacBook Pro, Mac OS 10.4.7, Airport Express V6.3, the computer and router are usuallly only about 3 feet apart. Thanks in advance!

Answer:
This is a really weird problem; you'll have to contact Apple Support.
contact Apple
1:stop messing about with something you dont know of or how to fix it
2: call your (isp)server
3 if no joy from them call the makers of the modem
4: if you keep messing about with the settings on it that is why its f_cked up
Is your computer always on? If so, then you are loosing you ip address "lease". Usually the IP address you get from your ISP is only good for a day or two. So, if your comp is on all day with the same address it expires. Restarting your computer will "renew" your lease.

Sorry if that doesn't help you.
Since rebooting the modem seems to fix the problem I would replace it. They are cheap compared to the amount of time you'e going to spend finding out that a replacement is the accepted way to fix a modem.

Your description of a lot of network activity is really nothing your modem shouldn't be able to handle, and if it can't..replace it with something different!
