Wild Blue Satellite down load speeds?

Question: I have a 524 kbps package. Thats a half a mb per second right? To test it i went to a web site and started downloading a file. I am downloading at 57 kbps. Should this be faster? How can i test or check this. Should I be able to download at like 500 kbps?

Answer:
Yes it should be faster. There are many things that could be effecting your speed. You may be FAP'ed (Fair Access Policy), you may not have the dish aligned properly or many other factors. There are 2 websites that I feel will be able to help you solve this problem.
