Question:
I'm on the Oregon Health Plan. My medical card does not cover acupuncture. I've tried paying for it on my own out of my social security benefits but it's been a struggle exspeacally now that my cost of living has gone way up. I've had it done ten times. It worked well for my intense anger. I've been able to cry my feelings out more with out even knowing why I'm crying. But it's cleansing something from the past. My violent feelings towards others has greatly decreased. Which, as a violent offender, that's good news! But the depression is still a problem and I need more done. I have acupuncture done to help my illness so I won't end up dead from suicide or in prison for assult. It's important. Why is acupuncture so expensive? There's only two acupuncturist in town. Mine charges $60. That's fairly cheap for acupuncture in my area.

It is really sad that the regular doctors still fight acupuncture from being totally considered a medical procedure. I know that when I have asthma so badly that my dr wants me put directly into the hospital, that my accupuncturist can take the asthma away, period..so much so, that I don't even wheeze. What you are paying IS a very reasonable amount to pay! I think that if regular doctors allowed accupuncture to be considered with our insurances, the regular doctors would pretty much be out of business. My husband had water on his elbow really badly, and the accupuncturist just made it disappear, just using herbs to heal him. The swelling just disappeared, and there was no more pain.
Think we're worse here at Spain... we got a single, customary "Social Security" service that will pay $3.000 sex change operations but not acupuncture...
