Section 125 cafeteria plan employee deduction?


Question:
Small business w/ cafeteria plan where the business pays most of health insurance. A deduction of $20 (or $150 for entire family) a month from employee's pay for health insurance. Is this deducted from Fed and CA state wages on W-2 (1 & 16)?

Answer:
If they have done the W2s correctly, the amount of the deductions have already been taken out of the federal and state taxable wages.
