Pregnant even after plan B pill-pls help?
Question:
My husband and I had unprotected sex way close to my fertile time.I was really worried and we were not ready to be pregnant so I took Plan B within 24 hours of unprotected sex.
Its been 2 days past my periods and I took a pregnancy test this morning. The test showed I am pregnant.
I am worried that this may have harmed the baby. This is my first pregnancy and I feel so lost.I didn't want it to happen this way.To top it all I have been partying past few weeks as it was my bithday and my husband got a prmotion.
Please do not tell me that I was being irresponsible and that I should have used protection. This is the first time we ever got swayed away and didn't know this could happen so fast.We both are a happy couple and will be happy with our baby but right now I am worried that the morning pill may have effected the fetus in a bad way.
I don't want to go through a pregnancy always being worried about my baby's health. Please help.
Answer:
Call your doctor right away to make an appointment. Tell the receptionist at the doctor's office what's happened - you might be able to get in today.
From what I understand about Plan B, your fetus is probably just fine, but you need to talk to your doctor to get the real scoop. As for the partying, also discuss it with your doctor and stop all alcohol or other substance use right now and for the duration of your pregnancy.
Good luck!
Make a doctors appointment today, and tell the doctor everything. No one on here is going to be able to tell you what has happened in your body, or if the baby is ok.
I hope your kid doesn't come out weird but I doubt it since it is just a little bit of hormones. You may lose the baby anyways in another 3 days, sometimes the Plan B will cause you to miscarry later than immediately. Good luck.
Sounds like your baby is a little fighter. Don't worry at that time there is not umbilical circulation yet. He or she just hung in there regardless of what medicine you took. Many women are on birth control and get pregnant. Tell your doctor on your first appointment. Good luck to you and welcome to parenthood it is one of the greatest experiences life has to offer.
I'm not a doctor or anything but from what I have heard the effects of drinking/smoking etc on a fetus are cummulative. So a couple of nights of drinking when you didn't know your pregnant isn't that big of a deal. Its the consistant drinking or smoking over the term of the pregnancy that can cause problems. Also I wouldn't worry about taking the morning after pill. Those pills are designed to prevent the fertilized egg from attaching to the wall of your uterus- so if your pregnant it first of all didn't work and was taken before the egg was even attached so the chances of you passing it through your blood stream are pretty slim. Just my Opinion. Good LUCK!
Yes I would definitely see a doctor asap. They will be able to tell you much more, and will probably give you an immediate ultrasound to ease both your minds. I have not heard of the plan B failing, so untill you get to the doctor, just to a random search on the web. "plan B side affects" Etc. I hope everything turns out fine.
I partied the first month before I figured out I was pregnant. She is healthy.
The morning after pill wont have any effect on your baby. It makes the wall of your uterus "slippery" so the egg cannot implant itself in the wall BUT if the egg has already been fertilized then it does nothing. So take a deep breath of relief as I am sure everything is OK.
