Health Insurance Question...?

Question:
I just came home from being at school and found out that since I'm no longer a student, I won't be on my father's insurance plan. However, without that, I don't have any insurance and have no way of going to the doctor. I'm 9 1/2 weeks and I haven't been yet because of this whole health insurance issue and I know I need to go, but I just don't know how.

Any advice? Any cheap insurance agencies? I live in Massachusetts if that helps, Boston area.

Answer:
you may qualify for medicaid, call you local state health agency and get a fast track application (not sure what the exact wording is for your state)

Dosen't Mass have universal healthcare? I thought Romney passed that last year?
Apply for medicaid at the health department
Maternity Card.com
if you are unable to get insurance on your own.go to your department of social serves...they can get you on Medicaid if your qualify...alot of paper work and alot of documents will have to be provided..it will cover you during your pregnancy and when your child is born should cover him or her up to 6 months or a year.
go get on medicaid if you don't have a job or don't qualify for health insurance at your job.
you need to go apply for state assistance. please don't be embarassed you need it and medicaid would be a help for you and your baby.
you'll also want to get on WIC (women, infants, children) when you find out that you qualify. wic is a supplemental food program, they give you vouchers to use at the store for purchasing milk, eggs, cheese, juice
You need insurance. I heard Blue Cross Blue Shield has insurance for people who aren't in school without jobs, but the pregnancy thing might cause an issue. Sometimes insurance companies won't accept new people while they are pregnant. I agree with the others that you should try to get on medicaid and WIC. Good luck.
Depending on what state you are in you may be eligible for low cost health coverage - especially if you are pregnant - you should look into state sponsored programs such as this. Also, it is important to have coverage for you and your baby and you can see how much it would cost to sign up for an individual insurance plan - perhaps your father would be will to offset part of the costs? Also, he may be able to put you on his insurance - depending on his plan - for an increased amount. I would suggest looking at Kaiser and Blue Cross - but it depends on where you live.
I know that in NYC there is medicaid...
when I first got pregnant I had no insurance and went to a clinic like a plan parenthood and they charge you on a sliding scale...
you may want to contact your local wic office and see what they can tell you. also look into medicaid...

Medicaid...also, I'm not sure how old you are, but if you are attending college, to a certain age, you can ride on daddys insurance in many cases.
