HELP... I know this is P&S but a serious question please figure I will get a good answer from all of you..?
Question:
Can anybody suggest a really special gift..
Answer:
Get in touch with the hotel your father is staying and tell them of his forthcoming 80th Birthday. Arrange a Birthday Cake and some champagne to be presented to him with all the family`s love. Ask them to take photo`s of the event then when you get them put them into a lovely frame and he will always remember your special treat..Wish him happy Bithday for me!
a portable coffin,,
Underwear.
My friend just bought his father a new walker. As odd as this sounds. It has a fold down seat on it, so he can sit and take a break when he needs to.
His dad loves it.
A poem would touch his heart.
a passport cover,a tortoise,a pasta maker,a tour around a distillery.
People that age don't necessarily need more "stuff" so do something for his trip. Either pay for some of it or give him a send off party. You could make a wonderful photo album for him with both old and recent photos that is like a chronicle of his life with a section set up for pics from his \Bermuda trip...good luck..enjoy your time with him that is what he will appreciate most.
The best sun hat or Panama hat you can afford.
a nice family photo to take on his trip.
Why not get him some travel items, like one of them bags that holds everything in a certain place. Then he will have everything to hand
Good for him a Camera so he can take some photos of his trip and share them with you
hope he enjoys it
wheelchair ,mobility scooter, chairlift, piss pot, nursing home room paid for
A pair of shorts, after all he is going to Bermuda!
i wanted to give you some ideas but they seem to have skipped out of my mind cuz i just could not believe the first answer James !!!
James that really was nasty and not at all one bit funny i think you owe hazellady a big apology
a phone card so he can make calls why he is there without having to worry about having change
a suitcase
sunglasses
short sleeved shirt
has he been to bermuda? if not, how about a dvd/book on the place, a camera/video for the trip, and a journal for him to write adventures(you could write messages in the journal for him to read while away)
I suggest you speak to someone who knows his past better than you. That way you may find something nostalgic to get him. At that age he may enjoy something that reminds him of a pleasurable time long forgotten.
Convince a good friend off his to go with him. Together they can really kick it up in the sun with the babes.
I lost my dad many years ago so i am not sure what would be a good gift..how about a nice long drive to somewhere maybe he and your mother went to years ago...you know like a trip down memory lane for him...go somewhere nice for lunch ...but maybe plan a little surprise party for him at the place you stop off..Sorry i am not very good at this.:-)
This will keep all his energy for his holiday....i know ..its still crap isnt it?? lmao
JAMES.you have seriously went down in my estimations ..that was bang out of order...i was one of the thumb downers to you!!
Hope your Dad has a great time, how about some gift vouchers, or take him out for a really lovely meal with family & friends.
What about a pic of you and him and your family with the words,."i love you " written on it, in a really nice frame, that should bring tears to his eyes.
As for that James guy he will get his , one day hell be lonely and old.
xxx
What about a pocket watch with his name ingraved on it and , I love you dad on the inside.♥
And to the azz hole at the top,
I would be shopping for one for yourself!
You are a mean , nasty old goat and that was so wrong! you heartless old coot!
why not get family members to give you photographs of his life and make it into a story of his life something that is individual to him add photos of all the family
Bit late to start it now, for his 80th, but do a special scrapbook about him and his life, make it real personal. Still you got a chance to do it for his 81st.
...what about some extra spending money so he can have an even better holiday.
arrange a meal with family /close freinds or a party and make it a tropical theme .I think its cool that your Dad is still able to go on holiday .xx
Hello honey, you could get him a portrait of all his kids and grandkids maybe or organise a family dinner and try to get as many of your family together to celebrate with him.
