Point 3 - I agree... 15 and 16 is too young for consent... but I am a USA citizen so I agree with our current law (which sort of changes from state to state... ever been to Kentucky?)
If you read the law, poptart, right now it's very much illegal for an 18 year old to have sex with a 14 year old. The issue is whether sex between, say, a 14 year old and a 15 year old should be treated as a criminal matter, or as a social issue. If it's treated as a criminal matter, both the kids would go to jail. If it's treated as a social matter, they would get the counseling they need to avoid those kinds of mistakes.
Next time perhaps you should build up a slightlier studier straw man.
Given that the AVERAGE age (at least from on study I read) of first sex was 14.9 years- that seems to be right in the middle of this range.
Right or wrong, it's happening. What are you going to do, start arresting 15 year old couples for having sex? who would you arrest, the male or the female? Or just whomever is older?
It sounds Bible based to me. Aside from Abraham and Sarah, most of the couples were this young or younger.

Planned Parenthood is a bad name, but so is the new name. They should rename it something that fits the bill like- the National institute for free sex with no responsibilities.
Anytime we condone teens having sex, that is a bad thing- especially young teens.
So, anyone 19 or younger can legally have sexual relations with a 14yo. Whats the problem with that?? You think 14yos are all innocent and shyte? Why is it okay in your mind for a 14yo to have sex with a 16yo, but not a 19yo?? Does something magical happen in the human psyche at 18years of age, that Im not aware of??

Personally I don't think 14yr olds should be having sex, but some are.
Even in the US statutory rape charges for a man of any age with a girl of 14 are rare. Changing their law will not change peoples behavior.
Ephebophilia,sex between an adult and a teen, is a crime and should stay so. It's predatory and at best leaves emotional scars.
I think they should have, rather than an arbitrary age, a pyschological, physical, and financial maturity level test to see if someone is able to give consent to sex. The way I look at it, most people probably won't pass until their well into their thirties, if not older.
I feel the same way about people getting their driver's licenses. If they're not mature enough to realize that driving eighty miles an hour down a road used by children to play on, or that their lack of a muffler doesn't make them sound cool at two o'clock in the morning (or any other time during the day,) then they really shouldn't be allowed to drive.

Well do you call a 14 year old and a 17 year old having sex anything unusual? I don't. It has happened throughout history, what makes this current generation any different?

I guess if 14 & 15yr olds would be deemed capable of consenting to sexual relationships with people up to five years older than them under this law it does seem to be kind of nonsensical to imagine that they were at the same time incapable of consenting to a relationship with someone six or seven years older than them. A person is either old enough to give consent or he/she is not.
