Now you have to buy health insurance, even if your job doesn't offer it. The company gets taxed if they don't offer it but who helps to pay for the insurance. They have added something to household budgets. If you couldn't make ends meet before the law it will be that much harder now. If you don't buy you pay higher taxes. The rich don't care. The middle class are in deeper in debt. I don't think they did me any favors. But wait! Now the inventor of that plan is running for president. He's one of the front runners.
Its something that will help everyone, no matter how much it hurts.
I am a Massachusetts resident and I agree with the new Massachusetts health plan law because it gives everyone access to affordable health care. If people don't have the money to obtain health insurance, they can go with very cheap insurance, with basically full coverage, called Commonwealth (or Commonhealth [I can't remember]) Care.
If you can't afford Commonwealth Care, then you can get MassHealth which is free health insurance (well, free to the people using it). MassHealth has improved tremendously in the past few years. A couple of years ago it was hard to find a dentist. Now, there are many dentists and you are covered for more things.
I'm a business owner and have Tufts which I think is the best. But if anything ever happens and I lose my business, I know Massachusetts will help me get affordable health insurance.
I would also like to add that this law benefits everyone in the end. God forbid if a family member gets into an accident and doesn't have any health insurance coverage. You wanna talk being in debt? Well, there you go! A one day's hospital stay can be up to $10,000.00.
The health plan law is oe of the best things former Governor Romney ever did in this Commonwealth, IMHO.
If liberals wrote it, then you can be assured that the taxpayers are getting screwed.
Definetely helps lower income people..Does nothing for the rich
