I need an opinion about my exercise plan...?

Question:
I'm 23 years old, about 190lbs, 5'9, not in bad shape, but I've started getting a gut over the last couple years, I seem to lose weight easily, and it's hard for me to put on a lot of weight.

So to get back in shape, I've been using the following schedule, 7 days a week, with no walking or slowing:

(Keep in mind... if I need to stay with one set for an extra amount of time, I will, they are not set in stone, but are my goals)

Week 1 & 2: Run 400m
Week 3 & 4: Run 800m
Week 5 & 6: Run 1200m
Week 7 & 8: Run 1200m followed by 3 sets of 20 crunches
Week 9 & 10: Run 1200m followed by 5 sets of 20 crunches

I'm thinking of escalating this every two weeks, until it feels like it's at a point where it plateaus

My question is, with this plan, how fast do you figure I would really start noticing results? Also, are there any health risks in this plan... like is it too much to put my body through even though so far it seems like I can do it?

Answer:
if you really like to run okay with me but i'd rather do cardio 20 minutes a day m/w/fr and in the morning then the other days you weight train tu/th/sat and do nothing on sun go to this website and take on this challenge..
Sorry, I'm a Certified Trainer, and even I am a bit lost here.

Is weeks 1 & 2:

400 meters, or
400 miles?

That makes a big difference. I can edit this answer fi you add more details. Thanks...
Instead of increasing distances.. increase the length of time you'll be running for... 400 m... isn't that far.

Start with 20 minutes, and add 10 minutes each week..
(think.. one hour of running will burn you about 600 - 900 calories.. there are 3500 calories per lb of fat. )

Another thing, in order to see results sooner you'll want to start toning from the get-go. It really makes a difference.. Carmen Electra's *fit to strip* (Disc 2) really hits all the spots in a 20 minute total body toning session, which is ideal. Burns calories as well. My boyfriend loves it.

But honestly, your plan isn't very vigorous.. I don't think you'll have a problem.
running for less than at least 20min will actually show almost no results. you have to do cardio 30-50min 4-6 days a week to see results and combine it with light weight training.
also consume enough calories to not lose water weight and muscle and not too much so you wouldnt gain weight. eat plenty of fresh, unprocessed food and drink lots of water.
Are u form Canada-just curious-?Anyways why don't u do circuit workouts, lift weights or practice martial arts? No offence but your workout seems awful. As a martial artist I can tell ya that w/ that workout u won't get anywhere, I mean it's just cardio and crunches? Did u forget about your arms, shoulders, pecs, legs, etc? I think u should definitely go to a gym!!
