So, let's not vote for Obama. He plans to repeal the tax cuts. Not only are we going to lose our jobs as the economy nosedives from tax increases, our government debt is about to explode because healthcare costs cannot be contained.
Look at the immigrants from the other countries that have universal healthcare coverage coming HERE, to the U.S., for healthcare treatment. That should tell Democrats something, but it doesn't seem to.

Does anyone even know what his strategy is to pay for this? Does he have a plan? Or is he just putting this out to the prospective voters to obtain votes?
Taxpayers already pay for programs that support people without jobs; why should this be any different? Who do you think pays for Medicare?

I think that you have done a "limited" accounting not covering all the scope...
have a good large health plan would decrease other costs:
- obesity costs to the societey over 300 BILLION a year...
- alcoholism comes close to that
- the present rate of the marketing and advertisment, profit margin for a private operated social security and so on costs tens of BILLION per year
The sad part is that we are already paying for universal health care. Hospitals cannot turn away patients, and when those patients do not pay, or they cannot be billed because of bogus addresses or socials, we all see the costs in our own premiums/bills. To federalize it would only mean more taxes . . . does this mean that all other charges will be decreased? unlikely. I am uninsured, but pay the price when I need to see the doctor. It's pathetic how the honest hard working individuals in this country get penalized so that all others can live off the system.
Hell no we shouldn't I pay for my own. of course I'm excluding those that are disabled who can't fend for themselves

Who is going to pay for it? Obama has said that the top 1% will pay for it by allowing Bush's tax cuts to expire. I guess that is on top of the 35% of the budget that they already front.

We've been told that the illegals will have to prove that they HAVE medical insurance which is part of that amnesty bill. Social Security started out as a 1% tax too in the beginning. I'm sorry, these conservative estimates are way too low.
If it can benefit Americans rather than Iraqis, sure.we will spend 1 trillion in Iraq before it is done. I would've thought it would have been more than 50 to 65 billion. I love how the same people who always ask this question think it is fine to spend billions on other countries.
He is going to steal the money from the Iraq war. He only needs to steal one third of the amount spent on the entire war.

We are going to pay with higher taxes and no we should not have to pay. Socialized medicine does not work!The government cannot run anything efficiently. My friend in Canada says if you are sick and want to see a MD you have to take an ambulane to the hospital.
Those numbers are unbelieveable. Currently healthcare in this country is costing $2.3 trillion per year. Just how can that number be cut back to $50 billion, which is just 2%.
National healthcare costing only $50 billion is a fairy tale. That would amount to full coverage for every man, woman, and child in this country for a cost of only $150 to $175 per year.
Why is it we can spend 7 billion a month to KILL Americans, but can't find the money to heal Americans? ME! I'm a business owner and taxpayer. We already pay for health Insurance for our employees, so why not pay for others? Just take it all. Then when I die, take the rest. That is the Democrat's plan, isn't it?

They are attempting to vote themselves monetary or legislative favors, and the left can easily buy their votes with carefully targeted promises.
Every time you hear a politician promise to “look after you and your family”, you are listening to him or her selling you socialism. Our government was not formed to look after people free to look after themselves. No matter how good it sounds, we can’t afford it.
For those who are saying spend the money on health care rather than war - you're blind. There will always be expensive wars. Always has been and always will be. Then to add yet another expense on the backs of Americans is insane. It's impossible to do all things for all people. You must pick and choose. If you think there will be a time where no war exists, you are very naive.
