Exercising without a gym? also, anyone have a good, healthy diet plan?

Lunges and squats are EXCELLENT for strengthing/toning your lower body. Find some hand weights and hold them at your sides while you are doing them. It will burn like HELL, but if you do it long enough and on a consisten basis, your body will be out of this world.
As for dieting, I dont believe in that. Just restrict your calories to 1500 and eat from all of the food groups and you will see results.
I dont really have any diet advice other than to eat healthy; but if you want a good work out without having to go to the gym, try bike-riding, rollerblading, running, or walking. Good for your legs and the restof you too! =)

I have lost 17 pounds since January doing just small things at least 2 days a week. I go for 30 minute walks twice a week. I include walking where I know will be hills or inclines. I drink 100 oz. or more of water a day, no more than 1 can/bottle of pop a day. I also try and do 25 crunchs/sit-ups daily.
If you just watch what you eat and make sure its healthier than a fast food run then you will do fine!

You can either walk (running will make your legs bigger w/ muscle, walking will drop the weight) 30-45 min. briskly or do short bursts of workouts when you can.

It is possible to exercise without a gym. Actually, I find I get more out of the workouts I do on my own, rather than a gym. I subscribe to FITNESS and SHAPE, both have wonderful toning and strength-training ideas. I walk, run, bike, do a walk/run routine, lift weights, do a circuit workout of lifting weights and bouts of Aerobic exercise, like jumping jacks, knee lifts, etc, and yoga. By constantly changing routines your body doesn't get used to the same old routines, which could backfire. For example, injuries or stress fractures. It even gives your body a break. Also, one won't end up in a calorie burning plateau. Spelling?
As for diet make sure to eat up plenty of protein. If not a milk fan or a vegetarian opt for soy products or the like. Add plenty of fresh food to your daily diet. If you eat healthy 80-90% of your day you can have treats, too! Without the worry of extra poundage. Whole-grain, wheat products, fruit & veggies, beans, and egg products will block plenty of the absorption of the treats you eat! Fitness and nutrition is my hobby, plus I'm a health educator and activity coordinator. Wellness is anyone's ticket to being as healthy as possible. Good luck!
