Are any of the health insurance companies on-line good?
Question:
Answer:
Depending on where you reside there are several options that are very good. And some of these you can purchase on line.
mbrcatz17 is being a little over cautous in this case. We have several carriers that are on our website that you can purchase on line - and they are legit.
A good rule of thumb is to stay with the bigger named carriers like:
Blue Cross, Wellpoint, United Healthcare, Aetna, Humana etc.
Dont fall for the no-name company's. Most of the above carriers offer the ability for you to purchase on line, directly through the carrier website - or through the agent/brokers website.
When people purchase insurance through our website with out contacting us it really bothers me. The reason is there are so many options availble and so many differences between the plans that it always helps to use a local agent/broker that has knowledge and understanding of the plans that are in your area.
Hope this helps!
You are young, therefore the premiums will not be too high unless your health is rocky. Get coverage from a reputable company offering the coverage you need at a cost you can afford.
I suggest you get a job with a company offering an HMO group health plan (the larger the company, the cheaper the premium).
The employer may pay 100% for the premiums or require you contribute a small percentage. If so, your payments are tax-free (federal).
Honey, most are NOT "health INSURANCE plans", they are "health plans" also called "medical discount plans", and are a HUGE ripoff, because dollars to donuts, none of the providers in your area will take them.
Your health insurance IS going to cost you around $250 a month, for INSURANCE. That's just what it costs. If you find someone offering you something for less, call the BBB and your state insurance department, odds are, it's a scam and not insurance.
Health insurance scams are the latest thing, and they're raking in a TON of money from people looking for a "good deal" over the internet. That's why you should ONLY buy from a local agent, with a REAL office, that you can go see when you have a problem. Otherwise, the other guys will happily take your money, and best case scenario, your "in network" doctor will be 200 miles away.
all your needs about medical and health insurance it's help you hope visit
I have to agree with mbrcatz17. The best way to go is find a local agent with good experience in your area to help you determine the right plan for you. There are so many on-line scams out there for "health insurance" but the reality is that very few doctors will be in there network and it's hard to find quality people that are. Health insurance is expensive but you are young and this is about as low as the premiums are ever going to get for you. Find someone you trust and let them help you design a plan that works within your needs.
