What did you think of Obama's comment at the debate re: health care?

Question:
I found it interesting that he suggested that if one wanted to maintain their current system that would be fine.

This indicated to me that they are now thinking that they want to have their own system and not participate in the plan they want to push over on the general public.

I hope people will not be fooled by this system. IT WILL NOT BE FREE. It will simply be deducted from any income you have either through payroll deductions or taxes along with what is taken out for Medicare.

The ones to profit from this are those who do not work, those addicted to drugs, alcohol and other self-destructive actiions, illegal immigrants, their extended families and others who have never paid a cent into our system.

B.Clinton and the Dems passed the highest increase in taxes his first term in office. Hillary, along with a Dem. Congress, will certainly top this.

Answer:
Exactly, there is no such thing as a 'free' entitlement program. And, with runaway healthcare costs, this entitlement is likely going to be the fastest growing part of the federal budget.

I don't have a problem with incentive programs, tax-rebates formulas, free-enterprise solutions to our healthcare issues, but if they bring in a huge new entitlement program, they will not only NOT fix the problem, but they will create generations of dependent Americans who will not seek out alternative healthcare solutions, and all of us will be footing the bill for a very long time.
Barack HUSSEIN Obama believes in a religion (islam) that condones beheading.
He is not to be trusted. Neither are any of the other Dems or Reps running for pres.
Yep. Or worse, we'll be charged a percentage of our earnings like we are for social security and yet only get back the same as someone who paid less in. Meaning, higher earning people will pay more for the same poor quality gov't provided health care that low earners get. Sounds fair to me!! The irony in all this is that "good" health care will still be available to those who want to pay for it. And many will because there will be private health care available to take care of the backlog from the gov't system.
Right you are the tax and spend dems have not changed a bit. The national health plans of France and England are very near bankrupt and the taxes they pay in these countries are astronomical. This is what the democrats want for us.
I'm sorry..he said a mouthfull of nothing. Dreams are built with a fantasy idea where everything just works just because you want it to.

Reality doesn't work that way.

Please.with the first insurance reform they said all full time people should get this as part of their plan. Fine. Then what happened was.there weren't any more full time jobs. So as long as there wasn't "full time jobs" we don't have to do that. So now we have a TON of part time positions that are exempt from all laws to protect good honest working people,.

This is in all seriousness..it doesn't take OVER 300 to 1000 people to open 1 Wal-Mart store. Any person with one ounce of sense knows it and sees it just with their general shopping experience. But they would rather have 3,ooo part time than 300 who show up. Heck quality, ease of business, customer service.even basic knowledge of their appliances means NOTHING.
I can't go to their paint department and ask a basic question and get an answer.. I can't ask an electronic question and get and answer. I can't ask ANYTHING to ANY employee in that store and get an answer. There's "bodies" and then there's knowegable people.

they want them to know..we have kids dying for incompetant people in those positions because a Dr. wants CHEAP labor.

Make your choice.
I thought all the dems were being really arrogant about health care. None of us hard working individuals should have to pay a dime to pay for the health care of people who don't work hard enough to get a job that offers it or don't choose to take it when it's offered.

Obama, though, made the most sense (which only makes him the thinnest guy at the fat convention) because he recognized that some people might not want health insurance. We wouldn't have to pay for those people.
Calm down. People like you are always screaming that you don't want to lose the health care plan you have now and then Obama agrees and you suddenly hate the idea.

And NOBODY said it was going to be free. You made that up.
I can't remember if it was Kucinich or Biden who said
the first thing that needs to be done is an investigation
of insurance companies. As long as the insurance
co. are willing pay ridiculous over-priced charges, the
pharmaceutical co. are charging, Americans will continue
to be ripped off.

It won't matter if you pay $5000. a month for health
insurance, if there is no emergency room to for you
to go to - or the nearest one is so far away, there's
a chance you won't make it before getting there.

All of Democrats recognized this problem last night &
offered some kind of solution. Which is more than I can
say for the current administration.
