Do those who support national health care know the facts?
Question:
amagine your doctors office ran by the DMV. and scheduled 6-12 months out on all non emergancy services.
ours may not be perfect but it's better than any other system in my view
how about you?
Answer:
HEAR HEAR!! The man has done his research. We have a years waiting list to get in for critical tests like MRI and CT scans. Not only that, we have the worst doctors who get PAID to see patients and they are not giving us any quality of care. We have a 'free' health care system and as such we are not allowed to sue for malpractice. If this is the type of health care system you are wanting then go ahead and support the National Health Care.
Yes!
Most do.
Any other questions?
EDIT.
By incompetance do you mean incompetence?
If so I direct you to The Office Of Homeland Security.
Have a nice day.
No
Most don't
Except for the leftwing elitists pushing this crap, of course. Hillary Rodham and Co. will not be forced to use the same flawed system as us rabble.
This is too simple--if they knew the facts, they wouldn't support it--not unlike many other liberal socialist programs.
Yes I do - did you get your facts off a cracker jack box?
We pay TWICE what Canadians pay.
*Put up a link - or quit lying.
**Typical ignorant con liar. You lose.
the US spends far more per capita on healthcare than Canada does. The premise of you question is factually wrong.
it's not national or socialized healthcare...it's single payer healthcare like France which has the number one healthcare system in the world. Sounds good to me.
i read an article last week that 800 thousand Canadians and 500 thousand Cubans were on a waiting list for surgery and thousands would die before it was there time for the surgery.
the u.s.a has the best medical care in the world but the democrats like to fix things that aren't broke..
Wow you showed us liberals.
Didn't even have to cite your "facts" either.
Who needs facts when we got you?
THAT'S AN ALL OUT LIE. based on EVERY FACT I'VE EVER SEEN...
most estimates have it closer to ONE THIRD (our cost) than THREE TIMES?
did you misplace a decimal point or something?
can you cite this... IN THE LEAST?

I sure do! Don't believe the negative examples they give you to scare you from getting a national health care system.
The only ones loosing out in a NHC, are the physicians (make less money) the Drug companies (make less money) and the insurance companies (make less money)
It is true that to see a doctor in Canada does suck. But Canada has cheaper drugs and legalized pot... so I guess if you're okay with self-medicating and only go to the doctor when you're really sick (versus just having the sniffles) then it all kind of works out in the end.
I think Mexico has the best health care system -cheap drugs and cheap doctors. In Mexico, when it comes to health care, you get what you pay for.
Remember, doctors kill more people per year than handguns.
socialism ain't what it's cracked up to be.
As someone who lived in a country with free national health care I can tell you that while it is indeed better for the richer people to be able to go to a private clinic, the people who cannot afford to do so are SOL without governmental help. Canada, and many other countries have private medical facilities on par with the best US ones that rich people can visit, as well as a free national network. National health care is not about making health care better. Its about allowing everyone access to adequate health care.
no, most people do not realize the waiting list to get a bed in Canada. Our cousin, carried a pager while he went hunting to alert him should a bed arise so he could get his bypass! Most Canadians just accept this as a fact of life. We do not need this here in the US. We need to be rid of "King Bush" the sooner the better.
Volunteer in your local hospital for one week.
Talk to the patients, you'll get it -
not health care, what the real deal is.
This is what is going on - the pharmaceutical companies
are raising the costs of their drugs to make money from
the insurance companies.
The insurance companies are telling your doctor or
hospital what Isn't wrong with you, so they won't have
to pay & will make a profit - at the expense of your health.
I've read where Fox is supporting Micheal Moore's
documentary, Sicko. It might be worth checking out,
just to get a better understanding of how messed up
our health care system is really is, whether you can
afford health care or not.
Everything Don P wrote is true & it's a disgrace, considering
we're one the wealthist nations on the planet.
I don't know where you got you're figures, but you're completely wrong. The average Canadian pays half as much as the average American for health care, and get 9 times as much service.
Insurance companies hate National Health! Besides, in this modern generation, there's no telling what diseases are being spread through school and public places when those inflicted by contageous diseases have no financial means of getting treatment. A spread of a contagious disease in this nation would cost the nation's government more dollars to erase the disease. Insurance companies merely increase the premiums to be paid by their subscribing members.
Yes, I do know the facts, and if you don't you can easily look them up. Here are a few FACTS (with statistics to back them up, unlike your accusations):
INFANT MORTALITY (Deaths per 1,000 live births):
CANADA --- 4.63 Socialized/National Health Care
U.K. ----------- 5.01 Socialized/National Health Care
U.S.A. -------- 6.37 Private Health Care/Insurance
On the list of Countries by Infant Mortality Rates, 41 countries rank BETTER than the United States with its private health care system, including Iceland, the Czech Republic, Macau, Slovenia, Luxumborgh, Jersey, Canada and the U.K.
Your baby is far less likely to die if he is born in Malta than if he is born in the United States.
LIFE EXPECTANCY (in years):
Andorra --- 83.52
Sweden --- 80.63 Socialized/National Health Care
Canada --- 80.34 Socialized/National Health Care
U. K. --- 79.03 Socialized/National Health Care
U.S.A. --- 78.00 Private Health Care/Insurance
You are likely to live more than 3 1/2 years longer if you live in communist controlled Hong Kong (People's Republic of China) than if you live in the United States.
* Under privatized health care and commercial health insurance, the United States ranks only 45th in life expectancy (in at least 44 other countries you are likely to live longer than you will in the USA)
* Under privatized health care and commercial health insurance, the United States if 41st in Infant Mortality (your baby is less likely to die at birth in 41 other countries than it is in the USA).
I am sorry you bought into big business' lies, perpetuated through false advertising, conservative politicians, massive campaign contributions and huge lobbying efforts. Privatized medical care and private health insurance companies (both for profit) DO NOT make health care better in the United States than in other countries, including those with National Health Care coverage including Canada (which you cite as an example of poor health care) and England (which some of your uninformed answers cite). The statistics demonstrate that your argument is simply NOT TRUE.
So before you attack the idea of having health care for EVERYONE, instead of just those wealthy and lucky enough to be able to pay for health insurance, please read the facts. And don't unquestioningly believe everything your political (and religious) leaders tell you, particularly when billions of dollars of profit are involved.
You are missing one fact. Most Americans avoid health care because of the price of it. At least all Canadians can get health care. In the US it is reserved for those who can afford it.
Here's some "facts" for you, Billy:
