What is the best health insurance plan should I choose before getting pregnant?

Question:
Me and my hubby are planning our first baby and I want to have a good insurance, cheap and covering everything with a small diductable. Advice me something.

Answer:
...are you stupid?

that's not a retorical question...are you stupid?

the words "good", "cheap", "covering everything", and "small deductible" should not be used in the same sentance with "insurance"

...unless its "the only good, cheap, insurance with a small deductable that will cover everything that I need, that you can get is: life insurance, buying a bullet and renting a gun".

it's good that you are looking for insurance before you have a baby, but you need it well in advance.
Does either you or your husband have insurance available through work? If so, I'd check it out.
If not, I'd get information from an INDEPENDENT insurance agent.
An independent agent works with several insurance companies and is more likely to look around for a good deal for you. An agent who works for an insurance company - say Nationwide - is only going to look at what their company has to offer.
Check about co-pays, deductables, and prescription coverage. Also, be sure to check how long the policy has to be in effect before you get pregnant for the pregnancy to be covered.Good luck, both with the search for insurance coverage and your plans for an addition to your family!
Sounds like you may use the State's plan if you belong to the State's low income resident. If you are in California, you may try to apply for Medicaid. But only if your income qualify. "Cheap" " Good" " Covers everything" "small deductible" doesn't apply to the insurance industry.
Maybe you want to consider to take advantage of your employer's insurance too. However, if you are not ready, I mean financially, I do encourage you to wait until you get a good insurance before you want to have a baby.

Good Luck.
just get insurance or you'll be paying out of your a**
Join the military, my husband and I will only pay aprox. 40 dollars to have our child. You can try your state Medicaid, my cousin is not paying a cent, and she has had a few complications in her pregnancy, and four ultrasounds already, and she is only six and a half months.
Oh, and you will never be finacially ready to have a child, unless you are bill gates, but how much do you think he spends on his kids birthday parties.
I have Anthem insurance with a Maternity Rider. It's pretty costly, but will cover me well in my pregnancy. You should purchase insurance with maternity coverage SOON, becuase like with mine, I have to conceive 6 months after the start of the coverage or it will not pay for it.

You're not stupid.
Cheap and covering everything with a low deductible might be a tall order. If you don’t have enough money to afford a private plan and can’t get insurance through your work or your husband’s work, contact your state insurance department (link below). Ask about Medicaid, state pregnancy programs, or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) in your state. The March of Dimes might also be able to help (link below).

Most private individual health plans have a window where they won’t fully cover your pregnancy. If you become part of a group health plan – like through you or your husband’s work – pregnancy cannot be considered a pre-existing condition. It’s different with individual plans, though. It varies, so the best way to find out is to talk with a local health insurance agent or the insurance company itself.

The first thing I’d do is write down a list of everything you want your health insurance to cover. Do some research online and talk with your doctor about the list to make sure you have everything listed. If you don’t have a doctor, try calling your local county health department. Ask for a family planning appointment when you call. Here are some things to look for in a health plan for pregnancy and maternity:

·Does it cover prenatal care?
·What prenatal tests are covered?
·What kind of delivery do you want to have and which types are covered?
·Is anesthesia covered?
·Does it cover nursery costs?
·Are sick and well-baby visits covered?
·How much are co-payments, if there are any?
·How much is the deductible?
·Ask to determine how much your bill would be if you used the insurance.

If you still have questions, try MostChoice.com. You can look at plans online and get in touch with locally licensed agents. There’s no cost or obligation to buy insurance. Just fill out a short form and wait for agents to call you. Tell them what you want, what your budget is, and let them do the legwork for you. Chances are, they’ve helped people in your situation before. One idea is find out which doctors and hospitals have the best track records with delivery and baby care and then find out what kind of insurance they take. Tell the agents and let them figure out the least expensive way to get the most coverage you can get.
